James Utterback
is the layered artist and dimensional engineer behind EchoFlow Studio, where bold geometry and precision craftsmanship converge into vibrant, three-dimensional art. He holds a degree in Landscape Architecture — a discipline rooted in spatial design, rhythm, and visual composition — foundations that continue to shape his creative practice.
James spent his early career designing public parks and natural spaces that invited connection and curiosity. After more than a decade of service in federal contracting, he returned to his artistic roots, channeling his passion for structure, movement, and form into the realm of art.
What began as a personal exploration quickly evolved into a full-bodied art practice rooted in movement, rhythm, and form. Drawing on his background in spatial design, James uses CAD software, CNC technology and meticulous hand-finishing techniques to construct sculptural compositions that balance engineered precision and playful flow.
Each work is both an aesthetic experience and a technical puzzle — a rhythmic dialogue between shape, color, and depth.
Through EchoFlow Studio, James creates art designed to evoke joy, spark curiosity, and reflect a modern sensibility grounded in design history. His work celebrates the intersection of art, architecture, and engineering — with a signature style that is bold, playful, precise and…
Unmistakably EchoFlow.
